Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) is a widely accepted method of underground utility installation. Installing products using a directional drill has become a preferred method due to the minimal surface disruption, and subsequent surface restoration. This equipment is capable of working in areas that traditional open-cut methods are not feasible. Using a directional drill, we have the ability to install product under rivers, railroad tracks, roads, parking lots, sidewalks, driveways, etc. Our directional drills have the ability to bore up to 1500’ and cut up to a 18” diameter hole*. The HDD industry continues to grow and change therefore, our education process is ongoing. We actively participate in educational seminars taught by industry leaders in such areas as drilling techniques, down-hole tooling, and drilling fluids.

We also utilize the more traditional open-cut methods of installation including trenching and plowing. Whether the job calls for a shallow or deep installation, Zinniel Boring has the right equipment to handle the job. Our trenching equipment provides us with the ability to dig up to 16” wide and up to 72” deep.
